Trinity Lutheran Church Food Pantry (view map)    The Food Pantry serves the people of the Tri-Creek School Corporation which includes Lowell, Shelby and Schneider. The Food Pantry is open the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 9:45 a.m. to noon, and is located at 631 W. Commercial Avenue, Lowell. Proof of residence is required to qualify to be a recipient. Additionally, the following guidelines apply. Recipients are allowed to use the food pantry once per month. New recipients are welcome! Recipients must be at or below this amount to qualify for food: Household Size 1 2 3 4 5 6 Monthly Income $1489 $2003 $2518 $3032 $3646 $4060 (Each additional member add $312.)

   The food pantry was started in 1990 and there are presently 18 volunteers who purchase, transport, distribute, and carry out food at the pantry. Much of the pantry's purchased food is acquired at Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, as well as USDA commodities. Also, several Lowell businesses show their generosity to Trinity's cause, such as County Market, which donates bread products, and Pizza Hut, which donates pizza and pasta. Trinity's congregation is also a huge contributor. Food and monetary donations are always welcome.

Items that we could use, but not limited to, are: Crackers, Pasta, Macaroni & Cheese, Potatoes (canned or dry), Cereal, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Canned Fruits and Vegetables, Skillet Dinners, Soups and Stews, Spaghetti Sauce, Tuna, Ramen Noodles
